Audition Prep Workshop
Join us for an Audition Prep Workshop designed specifically for those looking to enhance their audition skills and boost their confidence. Whether you’re a seasoned albeit out-of-practice performer or even new to the stage, this workshop will provide you with the tools and techniques necessary to succeed in auditions. Auditions can be daunting but if you know how to prepare, you can walk into your next audition feeling confident and ready to show 'em what you got!
Workshop Highlights
Choosing material: Learn how to choose audition selections that highlight YOU and what makes you UNIQUE.
Personalized Feedback: Receive constructive critiques on your monologues and song selections to help you refine your audition.
Mock Auditions: Opportunity to participate in realistic audition scenarios to practice your skills in a supportive environment.
Cold Reading Techniques: Master the art of cold readings with exercises that improve your ability to quickly interpret and perform new material.
Live Accompanist: Work with a seasoned pianist so you can walk into your next audition feeling prepared and confident.
What to Expect
This workshop is suited for all experience levels who are interested in theater! Whether you’re preparing for a specific audition(like our upcoming Fall Musical) or simply want to improve your acting skills, this workshop will provide valuable insights and practice. Participants have the opportunity to bring a prepared song selection and/or monologue to receive live feedback during the Mock Audition portion. Prepared material is NOT a requirement to participate! However, this section of the workshop will be used to benefit both the individual participant and the group as a whole.
Need-to-Know Information
Instructor: Kayla Mueller- Executive Director of Rooted Gypsy Repertoire.
What to Bring: Prepared song selection and/or monologue, water bottle, notebook.
Age Group: Geared toward 15+
